Coming off an unsuccessful Samsung Galaxy 10.1 Tablet banning court battle, Apple is now taking aim at Google Android’s first Ice Cream Sandwich phone – the Samsung Galaxy Nexus.
Apple has fired the first shot by asking for a preliminary injunction by claiming Google has infringed not one patent, but four. This includes a patent for multiple searches which is allegedly based on Apple’s Siri personal assistant software methodology, another for data tapping, one for slide-to-unlock technology and a word completion program for touch screens.
This latest lawsuit claim comes off the back of a recent assault by Apple to have sales of the Samsung Galaxy 10.1 Tab banned in Australia. After a lengthy courtroom battle, it was found that Samsung had not infringed Apple’s patents and was allowed to continue selling its popular Tablet device.
